John was a Friend (Quaker)

No record of the birth of John Talbott has been found. His birth year is the best estimate. John inherited half of "Talbott's Ridge" from his father, and half of "Poplar Knowle" and half of "Talbott's Timber Neck" after the death of his brother, Richard.[1] John married Sarah Mears, daughter of John and Sarah (Thomas) Mears, about 1689.

John and Sarah had the following children:[2]

  1. Elizabeth Talbott, b. 5 Mar 1690/91, "Elizabeth, the daughter of John & Sarah Talbott, was Born the 5 day of the first Mo. 1690-1."

  3. Richard Talbott, b. 12 Jul 1696, "Richard, the second son of Jno & Sarah Talbott was born the 12 of yet 5 Mo. 1696."
  4. Daniel Talbott, b. 24 Apr 1699, "Danll, ye 3rd son of Jno & Sarah Talbott was born ye 24th of ye 2d Mo. 1699."
  5. John Talbott, b. 19 Feb 1701/02, "John, ye 4th son of Jno & Sarah Talbott was born the 19th of ye 12 Mo. 1701-2."
  6. Sophia Talbott, b 7 Sep 1704, "Sophia, the 2d daughter of Jno & Sarah Talbott born the 7th of 7 Mo. 1704."
  7. Joseph Talbott.

John and Sarah "the Sole and only Daughter and heiress of John Meers late of the Clifts in Calvert County aforesaid, Planter, deceased; the Son and heire of Thomas Meers, late of Anne Arundel County in the Province of Maryland aforesaid, Gentleman, deceased," sold 100 acres "Howardston" and 200 acres "Expectation" to Capt. John Worthington for £180.[3]

Death

The death of John Talbott is recorded under burials in the Clifts Monthly Meeting Register right after the births of all of his children. He died on the 4th day of the 4th month 1707 and buried in the new graveyard at the Clifts 9th day of said month.[4]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Hi Donna. I was wondering if you had any sources for John Talbott's death date. Also do you have any sources confirming that John is the father of Joseph Talbot. Many thanks

Hi Profile managers. The merge of Talbott-513 and Talbott-452 is default approved. The two profiles share the same parents. Is there any evidence that there was another son Joseph b 1706, son of John Talbott and Sarah (Mears) Allnutt, as that child will become part of this family following the merge. Many thanks. Gillian
