Biography

Jane was born either February 14th, 1628, in Bennington, Hertfordshire, England.[1] Jane was the wife of Connecticut Governor Robert Treat who co-founded Newark, New Jersey with Jasper Crane, and Milford, Connecticut. Her father was Edmund Tapp.
