November 1797, Chatham County, North Carolina: Eleazar Andrews proves documents regarding estate of Thomas Taylor, deceased. Surviving children and heirs of Thomas Taylor, deceased, give “our Brother Billington Taylor” power of attorney for the purpose of obtaining their portions of the estate of their sibling Judith Taylor, deceased. Greenham Taylor is identified as “son of Thomas Taylor...deceased,” and Nancy Taylor Beal (husband Benjamin), and Raney Taylor McDaniel (husband Linvil), are identified as “daughters of Thomas Taylor...deceased.” Signed by Greenham Taylor, Benjamin Beal, and Linvil McDaniel. Additional document on same page in volume also grants POA for same purpose to Billington Taylor by William Johnson “in right of my wife Tabitha Daughter of Thomas Taylor...deceased” and is proved the same day by Eleazar Andrews.
