Research Notes
Birthplace - Trees often suggest Mary was born in Grayson Co, VA, which didn't exist until 1792-1793. Her husband is documented in Surry Co, NC, 1779-1795 and again in 1809. It was in 1809 that a deed for Thomas Puckett dec'd identified several sons in Surry Co, NC. During a brief period, 1797-1805, Thomas and several Puckett men paid taxes in Grayson Co, VA.
Death date - The death date used for her husband is often used for her as well. It's possible they died on the same day, but probably unlikely. Primary records needed. Can you help?

Mary Taylor is possibly a distant cousin to both President Zachary Taylor and his cousin President James Madison, as well as actress Elizabeth Taylor. Prez. Zach Taylor and Elizabeth Taylor have a common ancestor in James Taylor, born 1634 in Carlisle, England (or at sea on the way to Virginia).
