Biography

Isaac was born about 1789. He passed away about 1863.

From "Athens Home Coming," Athens, Ohio, 1904. (out of copyright). Isaac Taylor was born in New England on July 10, 1789. He came to Athens when quite a young man and attended the Ohio University. He married Miss Lydia Perkins, a daughter of Dr. Eliphas Perkins. A family of eight children was born to them. Two of the sons were preachers. For many years he was the proprietor of the "Eagle" Hotel, at the south end of Main street, Athens. His pleasing presence and winning smile as he announced "Dinner!" to the hungry guests is a memory not many who read this can recall. He continued in the hotel business until fire swept from sight the old "Taylor Hotel." He died at Kingston, Ohio.
