Biography

  • Convicted of polygamy 1884; pardoned by President Grover Cleveland after serving 2 years of 3 1/2 year sentence.
  • Moved to Mexico to avoid additional prosecution when he took a third wife 1890
  • Second wife separated from him due to domestic violence in 1892
