Daniel Tenney was the son of Thomas Tenney and Anne Mighill. He was born in Rowley, Massachusetts July 16, 1653.[1] [2] [3]
He married 1st Elizabeth Stickney, daughter of Lieutenant Samuel and Julia (Swan) Stickney on July 21, 1680 in Bradford, Massachusetts. [4] He married 2nd Mary Hardy on May 22, 1695 in Haverhill, Massachusetts.[5] He married 3rd Elizabeth Woodman, daughter of Joshua Woodman, June 5, 1712 in Newbury, Massachusetts.[6]

Under command of Major Richard Waldon of Dover, New Hampshire, appears the name of Daniel Tenney on pay-roll dated 24 March, 1675-6, amount due ,£1.19s.4d. Daniel Tenney, husbandman, conveys land in Rowley to Joshua Woodman, cordwainer, for the consideration of £8.10s., date 3 February, 1703-4. Samuel Tenney a witness. Acknowledged 13 July, 1709. He gives to son Daniel, who is to "support myself and wife," all his estate. Wife Elizabeth signs 14 Jan., 1714-15. (Essex Deeds, 36: no 36:110.) He transfers by deed 8 May, 1701, to Samuel Todd. Acknowledged, 19 March, 1727-8. (Essex Deeds, 81:149.) Elizabeth Tenney, with her family, for ,£22, conveys deed to Thomas Williams of Newbury, for twelve acres of land in Newbury, date 27 December, 1712. (Essex Deeds, 26:31.) She died 5 September, 1749, "over eighty" years of age. Mr. Tenney died in his ninety-fifth year. [2]
Daniel Tenney's death date is uncertain. According to one source, he died at age 95 (in 1748) (Deacon William Tenney VI., MSS.) .[2] Another source says he died in Rowley, Massachusetts, but offers no date; he is shown in this source as having been alive March 19, 1727-8.[3] FindAGrave reports his death as March 19, 1727 (clearly should have said "after" this date), and acknowledges the date is uncertain[7]
