Birth and Parents

Nancy (Tenney) Little was born in New Hampshire.

Nancy, the third daughter and fourth of ten children of William Tenney Jr. and Phebe Jewett was born on 28 January 1781 at Hollis, New Hampshire.^[1]

Marriage and Children

Nancy married Abner Bailey (alias Bayley) Little, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Bayley) Little Jr. on 20 January 1802 at Hollis, Hillsborough, New Hampshire.^[2] They had twelve children born at New Hampshire:

Early Settler of Wethersfield, Illinois

Nancy was an early settler of Wethersfield Township, Henry, Illinois. She arrived with her husband, Abner and ten of their children in April 1837. Their son, Henry G. Little first built a cabin in March 1837, and his brother William T. Little built another soon after. William's small cabin accommodated Nancy and Abner's family as well as his own for some time. The first child in this township was William T. LIttle's daughter. Nancy's daughter, Caroline W. Little married Lewis Hurd on 22 August 1837, the first marriage to occur in Wethersfield. ^[12]

Death and Burial

Nancy (Tenney) Little died on 6 July 1847 in her 66th year at Wethersfield, Illinois and is buried in the Wethersfield Cemetery at Kewanee, Henry, Illinois.^[13]
