WINNEBAGO - Shirley Louise (Tenney) Klinkner, 79, of Winnebago, Minn., formerly of Fairmont, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Grace Point Crossing Nursing Home in Cambridge, Minn. Interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Blue Earth. Shirley Klinkner was born March 31, 1936, in Fairmont, Minn., to Albert and Alice (Lenz) Tenney. In 1953, she graduated valedictorian of her high school class in Granada, Minn. In 1957, Shirley married Arnold J. Klinkner in Madelia, Minn. They lived in communities including Red Wing, Olivia, Cold Spring, Ellendale, Delavan and Winnebago, Minn., where Arnold was a teacher, coach, and driver's ed. instructor. She was a loving woman who was very devoted to her nine children and their families. She lived out her Christian faith and was a great example to all who knew her. She had many friends and enjoyed regularly writing and corresponding with them. Shirley enjoyed working in various secretarial positions in Minneapolis, Fairmont and Winnebago. She was a homemaker, an avid seamstress, a religious ed. instructor, and a member of the Fairmont "Thimble Club." Shirley loved singing in community and church choirs and volunteering in many other church activities. She also took part in Community Theater. She was very creative and loved painting, calligraphy, writing, gardening, baking and cooking. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her children and their spouses: Tim (Lisa) Klinkner of Owatonna, Laurie (Jim) Trombley of New Brighton, Deb (Don) Lorsung of Isanti, Bonnie (Dean) Johnson of Springfield, Mo., Dan Klinkner of Blue Earth, Julie (Doug) Haecherl of Becker, Brad (Michelle) Klinkner of Garfield, Beth Wepplo of Willmar, Chris (Michelle) Klinkner of Winnebago; 27 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Gracie) Tenney of East Chain, Darrell Tenney of Fairmont, Ken (Kathy) Tenney of Fairmont; sister, Marilyn (Brian) Blanchard of Big Lake; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Geraldine (Richard) Roesch, Luella Heiling, Melvin Klinkner, Alfred (Nancy) Klinkner, LuVerne (Sue) Klinkner; and many nieces, nephews and their families. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold in 1999; son-in-law, Larry Wepplo; sister, Carol Tenney; brother, Lyle Tenney, two infant brothers, her parents, Albert and Alice Tenney; several brothers-in-law, Francis, Martin, Leo, Orville and Everett; and sisters-in-law, Agatha and Delores.
