Biography

Born in New Jersey, then as a child was brought to Mercer County, Kentucky. Mercer County's beautiful hills were soon dotted with farms and before the area was a quarter of a century old, families were looking to move to a quieter location. They relocated to Kentucky, and formed a second colony in the Low Dutch Tract in Shelby & Henry Counties were the related families of the Bantas, Vorjes and the Montforts resided. Here he met his wife, Polly.
