Biography

Daniel Thacker was born to Benjamin and Ruth in either Fluvanna County in 1758 or in 1759 in Louisa County, source dependent. (Census records support 1759.) He married Lucy Ann Humphrey on October 25, 1786, in Fluvanna County or Louisa County. She was born in 1765/66 in Louisa County.

Daniel Thacker, private, served two six month tours of duty in a Virginia Militia company during the Revolutionary War during 1780 and 1781, under Capts. Joseph Haden and Daniel Tillman. He served in the military again in 1812, and 1821 at the senior ages of 55 and 64, respectively.

Daniel and Lucy Ann Thacker lived in a few counties during their marriage, but spent most of their time in Fluvanna County. Our ancestor Dilla Thacker was born in Nelson County. At the time of the 1840 census, Daniel was in Fluvanna County, but he died c. 1848 in Albemarle County. The couple had six children born between 1787 and 1807. Dilla Thacker born 29 Jan 1801.

Thacker-850 and Thacker-820 appear to represent the same person because: Same child of rather unique name. One is well sourced and the other is not. County of birth varies.
