Biography

Benjamin was born at Braintree, Massachusetts, on 4 October 1683, a son of Richard Thayer. As an adult he resided on Middle Street in Braintree, [1]

Benjamin Thayer was married to Margaret Curtis in Braintree, Massachusetts, on August 17, 1704.[2] They were the parents of three children, all born in Braintree:[1]

  1. Margaret, born 26 June 1705, married on 9 May 1728 to Amos Stetson.
  2. Benjamin, born 23 February 1707/8
  3. Zebulon, born 29 August 1711, baptized Sep. 3, 1710 (according to Dorchester Church Record)

Benjamin Thayer died on 4 May 1712. His widow, Margaret Thayer, administered the estate of Benjamin Thayer, husbandman, on 26 December 1712. His inventory included a house and barn, six acres, out lands, a nursery, and trees set out.[1]
