Biography

Susannah Thayer was born November 24, 1716 in Mendon, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Isaac Thayer (1695-aft 1740) and Miriam Thayer (1699-1762) ^[1] who were 1st cousins (their fathers being brothers).

"Susannah married Isaac Johnson on 7 March 1741, Bellingham, Norfolk, Massachusetts." ^[2] Isaac was the Son of Joseph (1677-1739) and Elizabeth (Blake) Johnson (1679-1720).

Susanna and Isaac Johnson had the following children all born in Bellingham:

• Nehemiah Johnson, b. 4 May 1742; m. Abigail Merrifield (1744-), 21 Oct 1764 (int.) 15 Jan 1765, Medway, Norfolk (Abigail's home town) ; d. 1784, Lynn, Essex, MA.

• Susannah, b. 14 Dec 1743; d. 1743

• Isaac Johnson, Jr., b. 15 Apr 1745; m. Abigail Ray, 22 Aug 1762, Bellingham; d. aft 1762

• Timothy, b. 21 Aug 1748; m. Sarah Jones, 23 May 1771, Wrentham, Norfolk, MA [Sarah Jones of Dracut, dau of Hugh & Sarah].; d. 3 Apr 1790, Grafton, Worcester, MA; she d. bef. 24 Jun 1813 Will probated Worcester county, MA.

• Ezekiel, b. 25 Jun 1750; 1st child out-of-wedlock with unmarried Bethia Garnzey of Uxbridge, Worcester, MA. (1754-1842) who later m. Jonathan King. Ezekiel & Bethia's son, Ezekiel Johnson, Jr. (1773-1848) had many descendants, DNA agreement between Johnson cousins from this direct line & Ezekiel Johnson's son Friend Johnson from wife Lois Thayer; Ezekiel Johnson, Sr. m. [common law] m. Lois Thayer (1761-1788) (2nd cousin on his mother's side) ; 2nd child out-of-wedlock with unmarried Rachel Merrifield of Medway, Norfolk, MA. (1754-1820) who never married, their son Levi Johnson (1774-1820) never married, had no descendants and continued living in the same town with his mother.
