1840 U.S. Census: Wesley Thompson lived in Lawrence County, Kentucky, with one male under age 5 (Russell, 2), two males age 5-10 (Thomas T., 5, and John Samuel, 6, son of Polly) one male age 30-40 (Wesley, age 31), two females under age 5 (Nancy Bell, 1, and Elizabeth, 3) one female age 5-10 (?), and one female age 20-30 (wife, Esther, 25). Total number of persons in household was eight; two worked in agriculture. [6]

1850 U.S. Census: Wesley Thompson, age 41, lived in Lawrence County, Kentucky, with his wife, Esther, 35, and their children John S., 17; Thomas, 15; Elizabeth, 13; Russell, 12; Nancy, 11; Isaac, 10; Pernelia, 6; Mary, 5; Allen, 5; and Asbury, 1. Wesley's occupatoin was farmer, and John's was farming. Wesley owned real estate valued at $700. All family members were born in Kentucky. John, Thomas, Elizabeth, Russell, Nancy, and Isaac attended school. Esther could not read or write. [7]

1860 U.S. Census: Wesley Thompson, age 51, lived in Lawrence County, Kentucky, with his wife, Easter (sic), 45, and their children, Perlina, 17; Allen H., 13; Asbury H., 11; Julia, 9; Daniel, 7; Emaline, 5;, and Myard, 3. Wesley's occupation was farming, and Perlina was listed as house servant. Wesley held real estate valued at $900 and a personal estate valued at $200. All family members were born in Kentucky. Esther could not read or write. [8]
1870 U.S. Census: Wesley Thompson, stated age 63, lived in Precinct 5, Lawrence County, Kentucky, with his children Asbury, 21; Julia A., 19; Daniel, 16; Minyard, 11; Jane, 9; and Emeline, 14. Wesley owned real estate valued at $400. All family members were born in Kentucky. Minyard and Emaline attended school. Julia, and Daniel could not read or write. Emaline could not write. [9]
1884 Wesley W. Thompson died, age 74-75, in Luisa, Lawrence County, Kentucky, and was buried in Yatesville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Busseyville, Lawrence County, Kentucky. Find A Grave: Memorial #107674156[10] NOTE: There is no grave marker for Wesley. The original cemetery he was buried in was submerged as part of the Yateville reservoir project.
