DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:

Hi William, it's been a couple of weeks since asking if you wished to remain in the US Civil War Between the States Project. I'd appreciate you letting me know by the end of February if you desire to remain in the Project. If I haven't heard from you by then, I'll assume you no longer wish to participate. I hope to hear from you soon, thank you.

Hi William, I just wanted to thank you for all the work you've done to improve the US Civil War Between the States Project. I'm doing a check-in with all project members and wanted to verify that you're still interested in being a member of the project. Also, any suggestions for the Project would be welcome. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Im so confused Im new on this site! There is so much to take in. My mother was a Wightman and 30 years ago I more or less completed a tree with help from living relatives then. I got as far back as George Wightman b.1424 he was Lord Ansley of Elmesthorpe. I am descended from him through Thomas Wightman 1460-1500 and then Richard Wightman b1845 (wife Scisseley Wodam) then Rev William Wightman b1509 whose decendants I believe went to Rhode Island to preach his faith. From his son William Wightman (The Younger) b about 1600 in Hinckley, Leicestershire to John Wightman married twice Mawedelin Haytor / Anne Moreton and his son Thomas Wightman 1575-1657 wife Dorothy Croft to John Wightman b1614 and Sarah Shenton. Then down to John Wightman b1670 to Joseph Wightman b1697 at Peckleton Hall wife Elizabeth Powdrill. Their son Powdrill Wightman, his son Richard Wightman born 1791 Earl Shilton, Leicestershire. Then Thomas Wightman my Great Grandfather and my grandfather Bertie Wightman b1896 and my mother the first break in the name from Joan Wightman to me Robert Irving. I have all this info but am struggling to know just how to share it.... I have uploaded my gedcom. My research was in the days before the internet!!! Please advise!

I have been working with the new Wikitreer who descends from Thomas Barnes. Although she is new, she is quite capable in terms of her reearch skills and sourcing. She has had some McCullum autosomal DNA matches. I think it would be beneficial for me to introduce you two. I think she will add family members and source this line. I will bow out of the picture and let the of you proceed.
