Abigail was born in 1756 to Quaker parents Thomas and Abigail Brown Thornburgh, one of 11 children. Her birth is listed in the Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, Volume I ^[1] and the Men's Minutes of the New Garden Monthly Meeting, Guilford County, North Carolina which lists all of Thomas Thornburgh's children.^{[2] [3]}
