Emma was born in 1898, [1] daughter of Alexander Thornton and Annie Johnston.

On 31 March 1901 the Thornton family lived at 25 Florence Court, Portadown, Co Armagh, Ireland. [2]

On 2 April 1911 the Thornton family lived at 9 Watson Street, Portadown, County Armagh, Ireland. Alexander Thornton (38) & Annie Thornton (36) Linen Lapper, married 15 years, 8 children born, 7 living, with Sarahanne Thornton (14) Winder, Emma Thornton (12), Lizzie Thornton (10), David Thornton (5), Alexander Thornton (3), Florence Thornton (2) & Eveleen Thornton (1), all Church of Ireland. [3]

In 1917-1920 they lived at 14 Avon Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Emma Thornton married [Orr-3726|Charles H Orr]] on 27 October 1920 at St Patrick's Parish Church, Ballymacarrett, Ireland. [4]

Emma Orr (56) Housewife from 44 Dee St, Belfast, travelled on 19 November 1954 from Northern Ireland on board SS Empress Of France going to Montreal, Canada. [5] Settled in Meaford, Ontario, Canada.

Husband Charles Orr passed away in 1960.

She passed away in 1978, aged 80 and was buried on 4 October 1978 at the Dundonald Cemetery, Belfast, Northern Ireland, plot B4 811. [6]
