Biography
Joseph Thorp was born on 21 February 1742 in Woodbridge, Middlesex County, New Jersey. [1] His parents were Job and Mary Thorp. [1]

1808, Dec. 21. Thorp, Joseph, of Woodbridge Twsp., Middlesex Co.; will of. Wife, Anner, use of real estate during her life, 1 horse, 1 cow, bed, bedding and household furniture. Son, Joseph, real estate after decease of wife; also 1 horse, saddle & bridle, 1 cow, bed, bedding, waggon, plow and harrow, to be his at my death. Daughter, Janet Jaquis, $5. Daughter, Mary Thorp, 1 cow, bed, and right to home where I now live as long as she remains single. Residue, after paying debts, to wife, Anner, and daughter, Mercy Toms and Mary Thorp. Executors—son, Joseph, and son-in-law, John Toms. Witnesses—Clarkson Edgar, William Wainwright, and John Fenwell [Jewell?] . Proved Feb. 10, 1809. 1809, Feb. 7.
