Soon after the death of his first wife, mother of Mary Elizabeth, about 1876, Josiah married again. Tom and Maggie were born of this second marriage of Josiah. Josiah was known as Joseph. 1860 census of Parkville, Missouri lists Josiah, age 22, farm laborer, Mary 19, Nancy, age 1. Came to Topeka to stay with Mary Elizabeth about 1912. Went back to Parkville to live with younger daughter Maggie.
