Deodatus "Diodatus" Threlkeld of Norfolk, Virginia (bp. 18 Aug 1687 Newcastle - dvp. abt. 1729), is the son of Deodatus Threlkeld of Tritlington (b. 1657/8 - d. 26 Feb 1732; bur. Hebburn, Northumberland) by his first wife, Hannah "Hanna" Anderson.

According to Hodgson (1899), he immigrated to Virginia. Melisbanks (2015), states that he appears in Bermudian records as a ship master around the time he was thirty-years-old.

Deodatus married Sibella Harmer Merritt.[1] It's unclear if he also married Jemima Burrows, but she is mentioned in his will and may be the mother of his illegitimate son.

Jarvis (2010) states, "During the decade Deodatus Threlkeld lived in Bermuda, he fathered one illegitimate son and sired another after taking a Bermudian wife; the family moved on to Norfolk, but his out-of-wedlock son remained with his mother in Bermuda."

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Diodatus by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Diodatus:

Threadgill-132 and Threlkeld-13 appear to represent the same person because: Threlkeld seems to be the more sourced spelling but it looks very interchangeable. The alternative spelling should be put in other names. But may be a little more research is needed.
