Research Notes
From Amanda Canter:
About a year ago, I found Isham's papers. They were not filed correctly and I don't think anyone had ever looked at them before. That was Exciting! He had been hit over the head while walking behind his house one evening about the time the Civil War started. He died from the injuries and they never found out who did it. He had a few slaves who were cared for by the estate until they were freed. The Money was all used up and the land had to be sold to pay debts. Anyway these papers named his heirs.
