Private Elijah Timmons served in the Kentucky Mounted Militia (Renick's) in the War of 1812

Elijah Timmons served in the War of 1812. He was one of the Kentuckyians who fought against the British and Indians in the Battle of the Thames in October 1813. He is listed as a private, also serving were Asa and Meredith Sisk. Elijah served in the 5th Regiment (Renick's) Mounted Kentucky Volunteers.

He obtained a license to marry Susannah Slaton in Hopkins County, Kentucky, on December 25, 1815. [1] They were married January 1, 1816 in the same county.

In 1830, Elijah still lived in Hopkins County Kentucky. In his household were 2 boys under 5, one boy 10 yet under 15, one boy over 15 yet under 20. Females in the household were: 1 under five, 2 females 5 yet under 10, 3 females 10 yet under 15, one female 20 to 30, one female 30 to 40.

By July 1844, Elijah Farris Timmons had moved to Pope County Arkansas where he was granted 40 acres. This land was the SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 25 in Township 7 North of Range 20 West in the District of Sands. On Nov 13, 1850 Elijah still lived to Pope County Arkansas with his daughter Mary (Timmons) and her husband Vachel C. Sisk living three households away. Living in Elijah's household were his wife Susannah and the following children: Lucinda, Hamilton, William D., Jane, Emily J. Evans, Elijah G..
