Biography

John Addington was born in 1783. John Addington was the child of Robert Timpany and Sarah Clark.

He married 31 Dec 1806, Mary Eliza Haines. The 19 Jan 1807 edition of The Saint John Gazette reported: "m. Grand Passage, 31st inst., by Rev. Veits, John Tympany [sic] / Miss Mary Haines. NBRG"[1]

John Aldington Timpany of County of Digby, yeoman (however the will gave his surname as Tenpenny several times!), wrote his Last Will and Testament 28 Feb 1861. The will specified that each of the following sons were to receive $1: eldest son Robert, second son Bartholomew, third son James H. Tenpenny, fourth son Clark Augustus Tenpenny. Daughters were listed as Sarah Ann, Mary Amelia and Margaret Eliza. Adopted son Aaron Wesley Young. In estate documents, David Cowan and James E. Delap were listed as heirs. The will was proved in probate court on 9 Dec 1861 by executor Robert McKAY of Digby Neck. [2]

John Addington passed away in 1860 and is buried in the All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery, Rossway, Digby Co., Nova Scotia. [3]
