Eleanor Tinzley was born at Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, England on 25th March 1840 & baptised there 12th April 1840, the daughter of William Tinsley & Susannah Randall.[1][2]
Ellen Tinsley, full age, Spinster, of Much Hadham, (daughter of William Tinsley, Labourer) & George Rowley, full age, Bachelor, Labourer, of Much Hadham, (son of George Rowley, Labourer) were married in the Parish Church of Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, England on 4th April 1863 according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns by M. Bovell. George made his mark, Ellen signed. Witnesses were Frederick Hudgell & Emily Rowley.[3][4]
George Rowley died aged 25, in July 1868 at Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, England & was laid to rest there 26th July 1868.[5][6]
Ellen Rowley, age 41, Widow, of Much Hadham, (daughter of William Tinsley, Labourer) & James Rand, age 35, Bachelor, Labourer, of Much Hadham, (son of William Rand, Shepherd) were married in the Parish Church of Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, England on 24th September 1881 according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after Banns by T. H. Griffinhod*, Curate. James & Ellen both signed. Witnesses were Thomas George Evans & Elizabeth Evans.[7][8]
On 25th August 1885, Ellen Rand (age 45) & her husband James (38), & their children Elizabeth (3) & Robert Rand (1), together with Ellen's daughter Mary Rowley (18) sailed from London on the "Chyebassa" as Remittance passengers and disembarked at Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia before the ship continued onto Brisbane where it arrived 21st October 1885.[9]
Helena Rand died aged 49, on 5th March 1890 at Mount Morgan, Queensland, Australia and was laid to rest at the South Rockhampton Cemetery, Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia on 6th March 1890. [10][11][12]
