Catherine was born on 17 Nov 1857 at Port Glasgow, Renfrew, Scotland.[1] the daughter of Peter Todd and Janet McDonald;[2]
at 2, on 2 Jul 1860, at Port Glasgow, her sister Elisabeth Todd was born;[citation needed]
and at 3, on 1 Jun 1861, she was living at Shore Street, Port Glasgow with her parents Peter 37, and Janet 33, and siblings George 7, Janet 6, Elizabeth 9 Mo and a Mary Beny 15. [3]

At 6, on the 12th of September, 1864, she had moved with her family from Shore Street, Port Glasgow to 40 Colquhoun Square (probably), Helensburgh,[citation needed]
At 9, on the 28th of April, 1867, she was living at 40 Colquhoun Square (probably), Helensburgh, where and when her mother Janet died, possibly in giving birth to Catherine's brother John, born either before or on that date.[4][citation needed]
At 10, on the 6th of March, 1868, in Greenock Old or West, Renfrew, her father, Peter, married again, this time to a Margaret Taylor.[4].[citation needed]
At 13, on the 1st of June, 1871, she was listed as living at 40 Colquhoun Square, Helensburgh, Dumbartonshire, with her composite family - her father, Peter 47, her mother-in-law Margaret 38, her siblings: George 17, Elizabeth 10, James 9, Peter 6, John 3, brother-in-law Thomas 2 and sister-in-law Janet 5 Mos; [5]
At 23, on the 1st of June, 1881, she was a dressmaker, still at 40 Colquhoun Square (probably), Helensburgh, still with her family, namely her father Peter 57, her mother-in-law Margaret 43, her siblings Elizabeth 20, Peter 16, John 13, bro-in-law Thos 12 and sis-in-law Janet 10.[6]
At 33, on 1 Jun 1891, still a dressmaker, she had moved with her reduced family to 29 Colquhoun Square, Helensburgh with her father, Peter 67, mother-in-law Margaret 60, her bro-in-law Thomas 22 and sis-in-law Janet 20.[7]
At 35, on the 14th of March, 1893, at 29 Colquhoun Square (probably), Helensburgh, her father Peter Todd died at 69.[4][citation needed]
At 43, on the 1st of June, 1901, a dressmaker still, she had moved, with her in-laws, next door to 31 Colquhoun Square, Helensburgh. with Margaret 70, Thomas 32 and Jane 30, a foursome of apparently single people.[8]
At 60, in 1918, in Helensburgh, Margaret (Taylor) Todd died at 80, leaving her with only Tom and Janet, most likely.[4]
At 68, in 1926, Janet McDonald Todd died in Helensburgh, at 55, leaving her with only Tom, quite likely.[4]
At 72, on the 11th of December, 1930, she died, in Helensburgh, Dumbartonshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, possibly still at 31 Colquhoun Square.[9]
