John Leftridge Toney was born in Virginia in 1847 to Robert Toney and Penedamia Foster. Parts of Virginia would become West Virginia in 1863.[1] He married twice, 1869 and 1886. He passed away in 1927 and is buried in the Mechanics And Miners Cemetery in Bloomingrose, Boone County, West Virginia. [2]
