Nathaniel was born in Mt. Vernon in 1785, the son of Jonathan Trask and Elizabeth Leavitt.
He served during the War of 1812 as a Private in Capt. Nathaniel Lamson's Company, Lt. Col, Levi Dodge's REGT, and in Sergeant James Ford's detachment, Lt. Col. Dodge's REGT. He enlisted on 14 Jun 1814 and was discharged 22 Aug 1814. His Veteran's cemetery record indicates that he received an upright stone, G.A.R. marker and flag.
He married Lydia Williamson on 10 Oct 1830 at Mount Vernon. They were the parents of seven known children.
Nathaniel passed away in Mt Vernon, Maine in 1866 and is buried there at the Bean Cemetery.
