Cecil Myers Treadwell OCEANSIDE -- Cecil Myers Treadwell passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, due to complications from congestive heart failure and leukemia. He was born on December 2, 1928 in Commerce, Texas, and retired from the US Marine Corps in 1970, finishing out a 20 year career in the supply field which included a tour of duty in Vietnam. After his military retirement, he also retired after a career as a buyer in the auto parts industry. Mr. Treadwell was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ruth Treadwell, on April 17, 2001. He is survived by his son, Cecil G. Treadwell of Vista; daughters, Diana Treadwell of Oceanside, and Beverly Alexander (Bill) of Victorville; grandchildren, Michael (Mary), William, Matthew (Sarah), Mark, and Rebecca Alexander, Sandra (Shannon) Hixon, Russell (Crystal) Calder, Roxanne(Jeff) Minemyer, seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Billie Jo Lynch of Commerce, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 21, at San Luis Rey Valley United Methodist Church, 5570 Old Ranch Rd., Oceanside, Calif.
