The Trenholm's are descendants of the Yorkshire, England immigration (c.1772-1775). Robert Trenholme(e) and three of his sons John, Edward & Matthew departed Liverpool on the 16 March, 1772 aboard the "Duke of York" arriving in Halifax (Fort Beausejour/Fort Cumberland) Nova Scotia on 21 May, 1772.
The "Duke of York" was the first ship of the Yorkshire immigration carrying 62 passengers, Robert and his youngest son Matthew settled at Falmouth, NS, Canada. John and his wife Isabella Coates settled on the Inverma Farm, known today as Pt. De Bute, NB, Canada, and Edward settled at Kingsey Quebec, Canada.
