Biography

Charlotte Tucker was born 25 May 1809 in Roxbury, Massachusetts to Joseph Tucker and Martha Morse.[1]

She married Henry Newcomb Quiner[1] on 2 April 1831 in New Haven, Connecticut. Henry was a farmer, but also traded with the nearby Wisconsin Indians. In the fall of 1844 or 1845, he sailed off on Lake Michigan on a trading trip. A storm arose and sunk the schooner, and Charlotte Quiner was left a widow.

On 2 June 1849 she married Frederick Holbrook[1] in Jackson, Wisconsin.[2]

She appears in the 1880 census as Charlotte Holbrook, age 71, widowed, living in Fountain City, Wisconsin. At the time she was living with her son Thomas Quiner and his wife Lillian. Also living with them at that time was Alice Montgomery.[3]

Charlotte died 20 September 1884 in Rome, Wisconsin at the age of 75 and was buried in the Hoffman Cemetery in Rome Wisconsin.[1]
