Noah Tuttle was born on 18 Dec 1744, in Wallingford, New Haven County, Connecticut Colony. He was the son of Ephraim Tuttle and Hannah Pangborn,[1] the second of their sons to be named Noah, since his older brother of that name had died in July of 1742.[2]
On 6 Jun 1771, Noah Tuttle married Thankful Royce in Waterbury, Litchfield County, Connecticut Colony.[3][4]. After their marriage, they lived in Waterbury, where they registered the births of their first four children. The births of the next five were registered in Watertown, Litchfield County, Connecticut:[5]
Noah and Thankful are said to have relocated to Clinton in New York in about 1796. Then, together with their eldest son Andrew , Andrew's wife and Thankful's brother Samuel Royce, they again relocated, this time to the new settlement of Camden in Oneida County, New York in the fall of 1798.[19]
Noah died in Camden on 21 Jun 1821, and was buried there in the Seventh Township Cemetery.[20]
"More than 60 years ago," he wrote, "in my childhood I recollect seeing two of my grandfather's brothers in Camden, NY, on a visit to my grandfather Noah. Their names were Ebenezer & Lucius."
