- Brunswick Co VA, William & Administrations. Will Book ??; Written 16 Sep 1736 and proved 2 Jun 1737. Will of Michael Sullivant. His wife: Joyce. Sons John & Michael. Dau: Honour and Mary. Instructions include that Honour is to be left to the care of her Aunt Elisabeth Watkins, wife of John Watkins, living in Henrico Co. If wife dies, Aunt Watkins is also to have the care of son Michael. [Elizabeth is either a sister of Michael or a sister of his wife Joyce - probably the latter given that Elizabeth & John Watkins named a daughter Joyce. This makes her surname highly questionable - it cannot be assumed to be Sullivan.] Executors: wife Joyce Sullivan, Lewis Dupree. Wit: Jno Irby, John Gladdish, James Lundy, Burchet X Turner

- According to John Hale Stutesman in SOME WATKINS FAMILIES OF VA AND THEIR KIN, p.551, processiones in Mar of 1747-48, reported their survey of Eliza Watkins's land. [From Henrio Parish Vestry minutes]
- The last mention of Elizabeth Watkins is in Aug 1758 when the Henrico Co Court gave Henry Stokes permission for a road from his land to the main road to the Brook Bridge, passing through the land of his neighbors, William Bacon and Elizabeth Watkins. Either the widow was still living there in 1758 or the land was still to referred to as hers.

The will of Michael Sullivant/Sullivan makes plain there was a kinship - however, an "aunt" can be paternal or maternal and the Aunt Elisabeth Watkins cannot be presumed to be a Sullivan without further documentation.
