Sarah Rosenbaum was born in March 1741 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania], the daughter of unknown parents.

Alternate birth information: 1735-1743, Sulford Township, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.^[1][2][3] She married about 1758.

In 1758, when she was in her later teens, she married George Lehman.

She bore him ten known children, two sons and eight daughters:

6. Mary Lehman
7. Salome Lehman
