Jane Barrett was born in 1818 in Swindon, Wiltshire, England to William Barrett and Mary - she was christened on 22 Nov 1818 in Swindon.[1]
In 1841 Jane Barat (age 20-24) lived at New Port Street in Swindon with her father William (40-44), mother Mary (40-44), and four brothers: John (20-24), William (15-19), Stephen (10), and Samewel (5), as well as Richard Green (15-19).[2]
Jane Barrett married George Smith on 26 Dec 1841 in Lyncombe And Widcombe, Somerset.[3] The marriage was registered in Bath, Somerset in the first quarter of 1842.[4]
In 1851 Jane Smith (age 33) lived in Swindon with her husband George (32, Cch Bldr 1 Man), daughter Emma (8), son Chs (3), and servant Eliza Osmond (14).[5]
Jane's husband passed away before 1861.
In 1861 Jane Smith (age 42, Dressmaker) lived at Short Edge in Swindon with her daughter Emma (77[~17], Dressmaker).[6] Her son Charles (15, Grocer App) lived with Jane's mother Mary Barrett (67, Retired Carpenter Wife) at Victoria Street in Swindon.
In 1871 Jane Smith (age 52, Dressmaker) lived in Swindon with her mother Mary Barrett (77, Proprietor Of Houses).[7]
In 1881 Jane Smith (age 62, Housekeeper) lived at North Street in Swindon in the household of her nephew John D Barrett.[8]
In 1891 Jane Smith (age 72, Housekeeper) lived in Swindon in the household of John D Barrett.[9]
Jane Smith passed away in 1893, aged 74 years. Her death was registered in Highworth, Wiltshire in the first quarter of the year.[10]
