It was suggested that Joane might be the daughter of Thomas Cooke and wife Joanne. Indeed Thomas by his first wife had a daughter Joann but she was born and buried in the same year 1596.[1]

You are correct Dan. But it is certain she was not Joann Cooke dtr of Thomas who died at age one. That is why Cooke-5522 is being merged in Unknown-439431.
As far as I know, there is no proof that Joann was a Cooke, only a suggestion. There is a recent book on Thomas (1987). Does anyone have a copy? Does it say one way or another?
Joann if she was a Cook is attached to the wrong Cooke-720 Thomas Cooke-720. Cooke-720 left a will calling Giles Slocum "Brother." His brother Giles, means his sister Joanne. You have her attached as his daughter. She needs to be moved to dtr of Thomas Cooke-214 pending a look at the 1987 book. If not proved there to be a Cooke, she should be changed to Unknown.
