Elizabeth, whose surname is unknown, was probably born about 1682, an estimate based on an age of 45 at birth of her last child in 1727. She married Samuel Burgess, probably shortly before the birth of their first child in Yarmouth in 1704. No death record or burial/headstone has been found for either Elizabeth or Samuel, nor is there a probate file in Barnstable County for them. Some sources give Elizabeth the maiden name of Hopkins, the possible daughter of Stephen Hopkins & Mary Merrick, however that is not proven.[1]
Findagrave's memorial[6] disagrees with what the Mayflower Society has published for Elizabeth Hopkins. This Memorial should not be used for changes.
