Biography

Dulsabel _____ was born about 1604 (her testimony in 1654),[1] and died in Salem, 12: (or 24) 6 m: 1658 [12 or 24 August 1658].[2] Her origins, parentage and ancestry are unknown.

Dulsabel married first Richard King. He was born about 1599 (based on wife's date of birth),[3] and died, presumably Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts, shortly before 2 June 1635 (date administration granted).[4]

Dulsabel (_____) King married second presumably Salem, before June 1635, Richard Bishop, as his second wife.[5] He was born before 1603 and died in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts, 30 10 m : 1674 [30 December 1674].[6][7]

Immigration

Of Richard and Dulsabel King's immigration, Robert Charles Anderson wrote,[8] "... since we assume that nearly all passengers who arrived in any given year were here by the date of the General Court [5 May 1635 that year], we conclude that Richard King and his wife were in New England no later than 1634."

At Massachusetts Bay

Administration "was granted [June 2, 1635] to Richard Bishopp (in the behalf of his wife) of the goods & chattells of Richard King, deceased." [9][10]

"Dulzebella Bishopp," age about 50, and "Mary Bishopp," age about 20, testified at Salem court, 30 June 1654, in the presentment of Elizabeth Dew, Mrs. Endicott's maid.[11]

Family

No known children.

If there are no objections, I plan to make some updates to this profile, mostly to add PGM subsections and update the details of some sources on the profile.--Gene.

NOTE a merge done in 2017 may have linked her to wrong Bishop...or King...

set for a merge. Her LNAB is yet unknown. Needs to be detached / attached to correct Richard Bishop

Bishop-13547 and Unknown-248310 appear to represent the same person because: Bishop-13547 (orphaned profile) needs to be detached from incorrect Richard, someone has mistaken her LNAB which is yet "Unknown."

Information about Dulsabel was included in the G2G post, "Straightening out some Kings and Bishops, early New England immigrants"

Is everyone cool with/any objections to changing LNAB to Unknown? Also, associating her as the wife of Bishop-179?

Or, would you like me to run another question past G2G? Thank you in advance.--GeneJ
