Alice was born about 1730. Unfortunately her maiden name remains unknown. Many researchers believe she was an Allen, or perhaps married first to an Allen, based on a Halifax Co. court order in 1760. Others assert that Alice was a Mills by birth based on land records mentioning Mills or Mills Creek in association with James Slone.
Until this is resolved, all we can say is that James Slone definitely had a wife named Alice and the couple had several children. Those children would include:
Patrick Slone, c. 1757-1827
Thomas Slone, c. 1761- aft. 1840
William Slone, c,1756- aft. 1841
Clifford Slone, c. 1760-1819
Milly Slone, c. 1763- aft. 1841
Reuben Slone, c. 1764 - <1820
The last record known for Alice was a deed dated 1792. It is presumed she died shortly afterward. Her husband remarried in 1797.
