Biography

The three daughters connected to this man were previously tied to Rutger Jacobsz and Trijntje Jans van Breestede as parents, but they cannot be due to patronymics and ages.

It is not known who their parents were. [1][2]

It is believed that Heyltje and Willemtje were sisters, based on baptism records but that Grietie was also their sister is less certain.

  • 1662 Feb 26 Gaerleff, Jan Broersen, Heyltje Jacobs. Wit.: Willempje Jacobs, Hendrick Aartsen, Andries Harmensen, gunner, Angeniet Caspers. [3]
  • 1664 Aug 31 Grietje, Jan Broersen, Heyltjen Jacobs. Wit.: Willem Jansen Schut, Grietjen Jans. [3]
  • 1671 Jun 18 Saloman, Willem Jansen, Grietie Jacobs. Wit.: Hendrick Aertsen, Heyltie Jacobsen. [3]

The only known connection to the Rutgers family is that Jacob Rutzen witnessed the following baptism:

  • 1683 Dec 30 Menasses and Ephriam, Willem Jansz Schut, Grietie Jacobs. Wit.: Jacob Rutzen, Maartie Hanse, Hr. ten Eyck, Pietronel de Wit. [3]
