Iverson Jacobs, b. 19 May 1860, d. 1931; m. Margaret E Holman.
Research Notes
There is conflicting information about Martha's birth and death dates. In the information about her father in The Utterback Book, Martha's birth year is listed simply as 1824.
[1]
However, in the information for Martha, herself, The Utterback Book lists her birth date as 28 Jan 1825.
[2]
Her Find A Grave memorial has a death date of 16 Nov 1866 and indicates that her gravestone inscription is "42y 5m",
[4]
whereas a Rootsweb transription just has "42y".
[5]
That would put her birth year as 1824 - anywhere from Nov 1824 to 16 Jun 1824 (without any "days" information). This supports the 1824 birth year listed in The Utterback Book with her father's information. It's possible that W.I. Utterback misread "Jun" as "Jan" and so her exact birth date could be 28 Jun 1824, but that is only speculation.
As for her death date, The Utterback Book lists 15 Nov 1867, while Rootsweb transcribes her gravestone date as "15 Nov 1856 or 66". Until a photograph of her gravestone can correctly identify the day, this profile uses the Find A Grave date of 16 Nov 1866.
