Biography
Lucinda was born out of wedlock from Ellen Vandergriff and an unknown father. A few years later, her mother married William Buckner, but Lucinda kept the Vandergriff name.
Lucinda married William Callon in 1859. The couple quickly had 3 children. William joined the US Army unit from Indiana. Within a year he was mortally wounded at Stones River Battle in January 1863.
Widow Lucinda soon remarried to McKinney Burk. But she too would die from the complications of childbirth.
