Theresa Veeser was born on Sunday, January 14, 1798 in Horb, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg , Germany. Her parents were Aloysius Valentin Veeser (Saturday, September 25, 1779 - ? ) and Maria Anna (Kaltenmoser) Veeser (dates unknown). Theresa married Philipp Jacob Schauer (Saturday, May 27, 1797 - Monday, June 23, 1862) in Germany, likely in 1822.
They had eleven children, all born in Katholisch, Horb, Neeckarkreis, Wuerttemberg. Five of the children died as children. In addition to Philipp and Theresa five children accompanied them (Magdalena, Philip, Thaddius, Josephine, and Sebastian) on the Baltimore, arriving in New York City on Monday, November 2, 1840. Their arrival was five months and one day after the death on Monday, June 1, 1840 of their youngest child, Rosalia Schauer.
The cause of Theresa's death on Wednesday, October 6, 1841, is unknown. It is probable that she was buried in the German Catholic Cemetery, but is no longer there. The cemetery was closed and bodies moved to St. Mary's Cemetery on Mt. Troy Road, Pittsburgh.
