It is with great sadness that the family of Johannes "Joe" Verburgh announce his death at Orchardview Long Term Care Facility, Gagetown, on November 29, 2012 at the age of 87. Born in Nijmegen, Holland, on October 19, 1925 he was husband of Carol (Perry) Verburgh of Gagetown.

In addition to his wife, Carol, Joe leaves behind his sons Peter Verburgh, his wife Jeannette and their daughter Sara and David Verburgh, his wife Shawna and their son Cody; brothers, Gerrie (Yvett), Frits (Lorna) and Ben (Minnie); sisters, Riekie (Raymond), Dini and Frieda; as well as many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his parents and his sister Marie.

Joe was a life long member of the International Order of Oddfellows, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93 and a proud member the Atlantic Retired Sappers Association.

Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Sunday, December 2nd, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Oromocto Baptist Church on Monday, December 3rd at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Perry Hanley officiating. Interment will be in Burton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Society or the Oromocto Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
