Biography
- James W. was known as Wood Vincent. On 13 Aug 1874, J. W. Vincent, age 17, married Martha J. Roof. Thomas Vincent signed the marriage record. They married at John R. Roof's. They apparently divorced because Martha J. Vincent married William A. Skaggs, Nov. 17, 1881 at J. R. Roof's, recorded as her second marriage.
- In a court case, Equity Suit #1004 at the Edmonson County Court In 1904, John L. Vincent and wife, Prisie Vincent, and John T. Vincent and Joda Vincent, who was under 14 years of age, brought suit against the descendants of John Blanton, Sr. for a piece of property that Martin H. Minton sold to Wood Vincent, father of Prisie, John T., and Joda Vincent.
- Prisie was by Wood” Vincent's first wife, Martha Jane Roof. The other two children, John T. and Joda, were by Wood Vincent's second wife, whose name was simplely listed as Sarah. Both Wood and Sarah were deceased by 1904, as revealed in the equity suit.
