Census:
1790; Census Place: , Rowan, North Carolina; Roll: ; Image: [3]

Note:
It has been brought to my attention by Jeanne Howell that there are a number of problems with the following reference (1840 Census), one of which being that it belongs to a different person altogether, namely John Michael Waggoner. The entry apparently refers to the second page of the 1840 Census record for Samuel Waggoner [1], which lists John Waggoner as a 90 year old pensioner of the Revolutionary war (or other military service) & member of the household [2]. -- Kent Creamer

1840; Census Place: , Lewis, Virginia; Roll: 566; Page: 133. [4]

He owned up to 1,700 acres in Davidson County, North Carolina.

alt birth date: 4 Aug 1757 alt death date: 1 Nov 1799 (father's death date mistakenly attached to son of same name)

Note:
This profile is a work in progress -- even more so than most, because much of the data has been confused with that of others of the same name (including his father).

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
