Lauretta Jane (Machon) BROOKS was a grand-daughter of Richard and Sarah MOORE. In her diary she wrote " In England, Hannah RAWLINS married a man named WAKE. Their daughter Sarah WAKE married Richard MOORE, a widower with a large family. His children were cared for by their mother's family and he and his second wife, Sarah WAKE, emigrated to Canada. To this union twelve children were born making in all twenty two sons and daughters he was father to. Their youngest, Mary Anne married John MACHON and had one daughter, Lauretta Jane, who married David BROOKS; their son Fred BROOKS married Constance BECK. [3]
