Biography

Sarah Wakeford, daughter of Thomas Wakeford and his wife, Sarah Longhurst, was baptised at Petworth in Sussex on the 12th of January 1777. ^[1][2]

On the 23rd of July 1799 at Petworth she married George Remnant, ^[3] son of Richard Remnant and his wife, Elizabeth Ayling.

George was an agricultural labourer and by 1841 they were living at Brickiln Common near Wisborough Green still with adult children at home.^[4][5] By 1861 they were living alone ^[6] and George died in 1865. ^[7]

Sarah died in 1869 and was buried at St Peter ad Vincula on the 13th of April. ^[8]
