John Wakeman was baptized in 29 Mar 1601 in Bewdley, Worcester, England, son of Francis and Anne (Goode) Wakeman.
He married 28 Jan 1628/9 in Bewdley Elizabeth dau of William Hopkins and Helen Vicaris.[1]
He died in 1660/61 in Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut. He was buried 21 October 1661.
" ... Will dated 18 Jun 1660, inventory taken 14 Sep 1661 mentions, among others, "... I give unto daughter Helina, wife to John Talcott ...and to ech of their three children ... namely unto John, Elizabeth and Samuel ... to my son Samuell Wakeman's two sons, namely, Samuell and John ... my daughter Kitchell's daughter Elizabeth ..."
On 21 October 1662, inventory of John Wakeman "lately deceased at Hartford" was taken and appraised by Roger Alling and James Bishop.[2]

Note the following narrative - "Ellen-Elinor-Helena, Wife of Henry Glover of New Haven, CT" by Paul W. Prindle, F. A. S. G. in The American Genealogist vol 48, 1972, p 209-210 has an error in that it mistakes Joseph for John - " ... Will dated 18 Jun 1660 mentions, among others, his daughter Helena, wife of Joseph Talcott [is this an error - should be John Talcott] of Hartford, his cousin [i.e. nephew] John Walker ..."
