Biography

"Sir William Waldegrave, Sheriff of Norfolk & Suffolk was born circa 1465 at of Smallbridge, Bures St. Mary, Suffolk, England; Age 30 in 1495.[1][2][3] He married Margery Wentworth, daughter of Henry Wentworth, Esq. and Elizabeth Howard, before 1483; They had 4 sons (George, Esq; Anthony, Esq; William; & Edmund) and 7 daughters (Mary; Margaret, wife of Sir John St. John; (daughter), wife of Robert Drury); Jane, a nun; Dorothy, wife of Sir John Spring; Bridget, wife of William Finderne, Esq., & of Sir John, 2nd Lord Marley; & Anne, wife of Mr. Barley).[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] Sir William Waldegrave, Sheriff of Norfolk & Suffolk left a will on 26 January 1525. He died on 30 June 1527 at of Bures St. Mary, Suffolk, England; Buried at Bures St. Mary, Suffolk. His estate was probated on 6 March 1528.[12][13][14]"[15]

"By his will... he appointed his body to be buried in the parish church of St. Mary of Buer in the tomb he had caused to be made under the arch between the altar and the chapel of Jesu, and that he be buried within 24 hours after his decease. To Dame Margery his wife he gave all his jewels, his manors and lands in the counties of Suffolk, Essex and Northampton; and he adds: 'Above all things I desire my Executors to pay my debts, and if I have wronged any man, to satisfy him; my wife has the manor of Edwardstone. I constitute Margery my wife, and my sons George and William my Executors." He was seised of the manors of Roydon and Whersted, both of which he purchased of Robert Buers, and was seised also of divers manors in Northamptonshire."[16]

Walgrave-3 and Waldegrave-90 appear to represent the same person because: same spouse - same parents - dates are a bit off but very close for profiles of this era.
