Omar Clay Walker was the youngest son of Henry Miller Walker 1849-1902 of Pennsylvania a Civil War Veteran with the 172nd Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry Co. K. and Margaret Jane Smith 1856–1958 of Arkansas, Omar's Mother Margaret lived to be 101 years old and was the daughter of Ira Jackson Smith a confederate Calvary soldier with 1st Arkansas Cavalry Regiment (Dobbin's) Co. D.

Omar was born in Bradleyville, Missouri. and had 7 older siblings, Martha Jane, Lillie Belle, Phoebe Elizabeth "Lizzie", William Edward "Willy", Emma Carolyn, Effie Stella, and Esther Lee "Essie" Walker.

Omar moved to Cheney, Washington in 1902 with his family when he was 10 years old, in September of 1902 his father died of a stoke. Henry grew up in Cheney, but would later work as a blacksmith in Spokane, Washington.

In 1917 he joined the military at McMurray, Washington Enlisting in the National Guard TR D 1 Calvary Washington during WWI.

In 1918 he was shipped overseas and departed Newport News, Virginia His service overseas, 21 Apr 1918 to 25 April 1921. 41 Div Det., 116 Hq TN & MP., Hq Det 63 Inf Brig., Hq TR 77 Div.

After his return from military service, Omar married Leile Geneve Davis in Lewiston, Idaho on Oct 1, 1922. They later would move to Marion Co. Oregon and later moved to Hubbard, Oregon. Together Omar and Leile had 2 son's Donald O. Walker and Dale Lee Walker, Omar out lived both his sons.
